How does the bidding work?

There is no back-and-forth raising. Everyone writes a single bid in secret, the round closes when the timer runs out or everyone has bid, and the bids open together. The highest bid takes the lot and pays for it.

How big is the budget?

The budget is set by the number of rounds: ten units per round. In a ten-round game everyone starts with a hundred, so overpaying early leaves you with nothing to fight with later.

How long is a round?

Thirty-five seconds, and the round closes early once everyone has placed a bid.
